Found a little sketch I forgot about…!
Pecha Kucha Night is creative people talking about creative things. Begun in Japan in 2003, the events can now be found on a regular basis in cities around the world. I’m one of several featured speakers at the next Pecha Kucha night in Hong Kong.
Vol. 4 has been specially curated by Danielle Huthart of Whitespace!

Come along if you can – 8:00PM on Feb. 25th, at Prive on Wyndham Street, Central, Hong Kong.

Lane Crawford is one of the best department/specialty stores on the globe, and I must say, my personal favorite for a little dose of inspiration! With four locations in Hong Kong, and one in Beijing, this store always gives me a little taste of glamour and a constant flow of drool-worthy goodies to feast my eyes upon.
I was lucky enough to be asked to create a window design for their Valentine’s-themed “Reasons to Love…” month-long event, alongside other notable Hong Kong artists such as Mimi Leung, Anna Fredrikkson and others! The windows will be up at the Pacific Place shop through the month of February.
My window was themed on the quote “Adornment is only a reflection of the heart” ~Anonymous aka “Reasons to Love…Sparkle”
As a rather frequent customer of hardware shops around Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok, I’ve been dying to include some of the chaotic patterning I find there in one of my art pieces – so I covered a female figure with hooks, keys, mini cake tins, nuts, bolts, drain covers, wheels, and – for a touch of glamour – Swarovski crystals!
To top it all off, the store added jewellery from the latest collections to adorn the figure.
Hope you can stop by & check it out! And please take a look at the other artists’ fantastic pieces in windows throughout the store.
You can also view my hand-painted text on all the artists’ windows at Pacific Place, as well as on a special display at the IFC location.
Hope to post some better photos later this week!
Thanks to Perspective, Asia’s leading magazine for interiors, style, architecture, & design. I have some artworks and an interview featured in this month’s Artist section. You can check out the February 09 issue on newstands now! In Hong Kong, available at Page One, Dymocks & the occasional Starbucks … In Europe & the US – scan your local bookshop or Barnes&Noble!
Hopefully you guys can read the article – tried to cut & paste as best I could!
