Brightness/Contrast
Our new exhibition opens next week! Brightness/Contrast is a group exhibition featuring the personal work of 5 Artists-in-Residence at Yew Chung International School here in Hong Kong. Opening Reception is next Thursday, June 2, at 6:00pm.

May Flowers
I have some new work displayed in the May Flowers group show, opening next week. Mask-erade!
Here’s a project I recently art directed with Year 3 students. We made masks from around the world using recycled materials, paper mache, and found objects. I wish I had some more pictures of the process, but I love at least how the final pieces turned out. Below, a selection of some of my favorites:

Godspell Set Design
A few months ago, I created the set design for the YCIS version of the 1970s musical classic Godspell. Director Alan Nazareno’s modern take on the show called for a gritty, urban setting, so I created a huge graffiti wall using words at the central tenet of the musical’s theme. I can never profess to be as great a graffiti writer as some of my idols in the art world, but for my first time using a spray can, I think it turned out pretty well! The amount of work required to write “letters” is incredible, and let it be said, I have a huge amount of respect for graffiti writers following this!
